Return, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This policy explains when payments to Trip EV Private Limited ("Trip EV") for TRIP Electric Scooty rentals can be cancelled or refunded, and how scooters must be returned. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. If anything here conflicts with the Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions apply.

In short: the onboarding fee is never refunded, and rent is not refunded once the scooter has been handed over to you. Please read this policy before you pay.

2. Onboarding fee

The one-time onboarding fee of ₹2,000 to ₹3,500, based on the scooter model you choose, covers KYC, verification, onboarding and vehicle allotment. It is non-refundable in all cases. It is charged again if you restart a rental after ending one.

3. Cancellation before handover

You may cancel a booking any time before the scooter is handed over to you. The week's rent you paid is refunded in full. The onboarding fee is not refunded.

If Trip EV is unable to hand over a scooter within 3 days of your payment, you may cancel and the week's rent will be refunded in full.

4. No refund after handover

Once the scooter is handed over to you, the rent for that week is fully non-refundable. This applies in every case, including breakdown, accident, damage, theft, early return, or the rental ending for any reason. Rent paid in advance for any later week is also non-refundable.

If the scooter breaks down, report it right away through the app or on +91 88009 64723. Repairs are handled as set out in Section 7 of the Terms & Conditions.

Repossession for danger or risk: Trip EV may immobilise and repossess the scooter at any time, without prior notice and without any refund, if it finds any danger or risk to the scooter, the rider or others. This includes unsafe or illegal use, tampering or modification, suspected theft or misuse, use outside the service area, breach of the Terms, or a safety issue with the vehicle.

Rider's responsibility: Any modification made to the scooter, and any failure to follow the law or traffic rules, is entirely the rider's responsibility. In case of theft, road accident or any other incident during the rental, the rider bears all resulting loss, damage, fines and legal costs, and no refund is given.

5. Ending your rental and returning the scooter

To end your rental, inform us through the app or by phone, and return the scooter before your paid period ends.

  1. Bring the scooter to your assigned Trip EV hub during working hours, with the battery, charger (if issued), keys and all accessories given at handover.
  2. Our team will inspect the scooter and compare it with the handover photos and records.
  3. Any damage beyond normal wear and tear, missing accessories, unpaid rent and pending challans will be charged at actual cost.
  4. All dues must be paid before your rental is closed. Your account is then closed and Bluetooth access is removed.

As Trip EV holds no deposit, any charges found at return must be paid within 7 days.

6. If you do not renew

If you do not renew by the end of your paid period:

7. Failed and duplicate payments

If money is debited but the payment fails, or you are charged twice for the same item, contact us with the transaction ID. After we verify it, the amount will be refunded to your original payment method within 5 to 7 working days.

8. How refunds are paid

All approved refunds are paid only to the original payment method. Trip EV never pays or accepts refunds in cash. Your bank or UPI app may take a few extra working days to show the credit.

9. How to request a refund or raise a dispute

Request a refund or raise a payment dispute within 10 days of the payment. Share your registered mobile number, transaction ID and reason.

We will reply within 24 hours and decide on the request within 7 working days.

10. Changes to this policy

Trip EV may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted in the app and on our website. The policy in force on the date of your payment applies to that payment.
